Languages Other Than English - French

French is an important part of life at Mornington Park, students enjoy engaging in an interactive French program, building their language skills through stories, drama, music, games, and cultural exploration from prep to grade 6.

Students participate in plays and through these stories they develop their French vocabulary, listening skills, pronunciation, and comprehension while participating in role-plays, performances, craft activities, and creative language tasks.

Music has continued to play an important role in our French lessons, with students learning and singing a range of French songs to reinforce vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence in speaking the language. Games, movement activities, collaborative learning tasks, and classroom conversations help students to practise their French in fun and meaningful ways. 

The school French program offers students the opportunity to participate in French incursions like the French circus, and French days. It is wonderful to see students be immersed in the French language and continue to build their understanding of language and culture.
