Book Character Day
During Book week our students participate in a variety of activities including story time in the library, book fair and concluding with a much loved book parade where the students and staff dress up as a character from a book.

Harmony Day
Each year we celebrate Harmony Day. The message of Harmony Day is everyone belongs. It’s a day to celebrate Australia’s diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home.

It is in the schoolyard and classroom that children have, and will learn important lessons of respect and understanding of cultural diversity.

Whole school activities in the past have included wearing the colour orange, making kites, paper planes, paper chains and writing a “Harmony” song.

Footy Day
On the last day of Term 3, students and staff participate in our annual footy parade, dressing in their favourite team colours from all codes, with children enjoying a footy lunch and special activities.

Productions/Concerts
At MPPS we provide a variety of opportunities for children to develop speaking skills, collaboration, listening, confidence and creativity through performance. Every two years, children are involved in a whole school production. We also have a yearly Christmas concert as well as termly musical performances.

The whole school production provides opportunities for children to develop skills in script writing, choreography, performance, design as well as working with sound and light production. We have formed strong links with the local secondary school which has been very generous in sharing its buildings and other resources.

Our Christmas concert has become a lovely end of year celebration for the families at MPPS. Where children get to perform a song with their class to parents and friends and enjoy a free sausage sizzle before the performances.

On top of these events we provide many occasions for children to showcase what they have learnt in Music and instrumental lessons. This might be in end of term concerts to the whole school, parents and friends or a performance at the twilight fair.
