Enrichment Programs
SPA
The SPA Program ( Speech Patholgy Assistance) is a Language Intervention Program implemented 2-3 times each week by a trained Speech Pathology Assistant, under the direction of a Speech Pathologist.Children are first identified, assessed and given a progarm which is closely monitored and reviewed. This provides a greater frequency of service to students with significant speech and/ or language difficulties leading to better outcomes.
After School Sport Program
Mornington Park currently runs an Active After School Sports Program. The program runs on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3.20-4.30 pm and involves interactive games, sports and recreational activities that deliver fun and fitness to all of its participants. Parents support the program by preparing fruit platters that are enjoyed as an afternoon snack and the activities are planned to accommodate changes in weather. At this stage the program is generously funded by the Australian Sports Commission so that there is no charge to our students.
Water Safety Program
Our school is home for the Mornington District Water Safety trailer and each year we avail ourselves of this wonderful resource. Our senior students undertake a four day intensive water safety program at Mothers’ Beach and participate in surf-ski activities, snorkelling, survival swimming, rescues, life jacket drills and finish the course with a iron man and triathlon event.
The Water Safety Program is highly regarded by our school community. It takes place in a beautiful, controlled stretch of beach and meets the aquatic safety needs of our bayside students
