Welcome
Mornington Park Primary School is situated on the northern side of Mornington, 14 kilometres south of Frankston. The school was established in 1972 and draws its students from immediate and surrounding areas. There are currently 245 enrolled students at the school. The School's vision is to create a school with a warm and co-operative team spirit, where parents feel welcome and students feel happy, secure and safe, and feel confident to develop their talents and reach their potential.
The School Council consists of parents, teachers and community members who work together on projects to improve the school and its facilities and to determine finance arrangements. The Council welcomes new parents' involvement. Meetings of School Council are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.00 pm. School Council sub-committees include Resources, Environment, Curriculum and Accountability. These sub-committees meet once a month to formulate a policy and monitor various aspects of school development and work to improve the school environment. Parents with particular interest in any of these areas can join a sub-committee without being a member of School Council.
School uniform is compulsory at Mornington Park Primary School. Our colours are burgundy, ink navy with a minor colour of gold and a gold logo. Our uniform shop operates by providing parents with all school uniforms at minimum costs. The school is also a 'sunsmart' school and requires students to be suitably attired in hot weather. Broad brimmed hats are compulsory in Terms 1 and 4. It is also strongly recommend parents provide an effective sunscreen for further protection.
